What if future technology could save capitalism?

I know this may come across as very far-fetched, but I'm just exploring something here. What if we created a machine that can produce on mass anything by cloning the product from the original. And this could be anything (though it may be possible that not everything can be thrown on the table for this). I know it sounds artificial, and even ludicrous, but it could be a way of dealing with the whole resources problem that capitalism has.

We can already duplicate products en masse. It wouldn't solve the problem of scarce resources unless the "cloned" product were costless.

1. What does such a technology have to do with "capitalism"? It applies to any economic system.

2. People have explored such before. Consider "The Diamond Age" by Neal Stephenson.

Technology can be exogenous or endogenous variable. if it is endogenous,it is cumulative. Both are important to growth in the capitalist society.
