Right now i am 15 and i will be turning 16 in a month so i am starting drivers ed next week by the end of the summer i plan to have 3000$ saved up towards my first car. Through the research i have done a have found a dealership selling older model dodges/fords ex 1999-2001 with high miles 100k roughly but i know trucks last a long time and can run for many more miles if taken care of, i will only need to get 10-15k miles and 3 years of use out of this truck.
UPDATE after reading some of the answers i dont really mind how much mpg i get due to i will be in school 10 months out of the year a round trip to school and back home is about 1 and half round trip yes gas is expensive but i not traveling high way or anything and I live in new england and my street is horrible between large pot holes and poor irrigation leaving puddles and mud not very good for small cars and in the winter its almost inpossible getting out of my drive way with snow on the ground without 4wheel drive
