i was going to buy a new black 16 gb iphone from at&t but when i saw they were selling refurbs for 100 less i was more than enthoustic however im concerned with the quality and how well they "refurbish it"
to those of you who do or dont would they plastic be scratched or the screen or would it be like brand new? also what color white or black and why thanks alot!

I posted a question a few days ago about new vs. refurbished items. I found out that refurbished items are returns to the manufacturer because they malfunctioned in some way. Once back at the manufacturer they fix whatever was wrong and sell them again. They dont switch out any of the outer casing (only internal components) so they could have scratches from the previous owner, but this is not always the case.

They come with a warranty (just like the new ones), make sure to get phone insurance (which is a must with any phone) and you save $100.

I say get the refurbished one....

In WHITE!
=)

They are just like a brand new iPhone 3G. They are completely refurb'd and meet factory specs and with a new case.

I would take a close look at the return policy. Just because it is refurbished, it does not mean it is a bad product. Still though the chances of a glitch or errors are higher. If you can get a warranty of at least 30 days I would get the refurbished phone. The sides could be scratched, but you could only find out once you see the actual phone.

My wife had a palm centro and we purchased it brand new from the sprint store. That phone messed up and they sent us a refurbished one, and two weeks later that one went bad also. So you got to be careful, even if they are brand new.

Idk but i suggest you stay away from "refurbished phones" all together.
