What is better a (Dell) LCD monitor or LCD television for DVD's and blu-ray discs???

What is better a (Dell) LCD monitor or LCD television for DVD's and blu-ray discs?

Size will be 26 inch!!!
Also make notice that I don't like the noisy sound a computer makes!!!

A monitor will support higher resolutions (ie you can probably find a 1080p monitor at that price), though it will cost a lot. A side point to look at is the inputs. A monitor will typically only have VGA, DVI, and maybe HDMI or component, depending on the monitor. Also, not all monitors support audio-in, because not all of them have speakers.

TVs have speakers, and will probably have more of of the inputs you'll want, but you might only get 720p.
