What is Mazda RX8 engine cc (liter)?

It is been a debate whether Mazda RX8 engine is 1300cc or higher. I understand it utilize rotary engine which is capable of deliver 250hp. Some brochure indicate it is 1.3L engine, yet others may show it is 2.6L. My question is, technically, by the definition of cc (air suck in in cubic centimeter), what is best describe the engine, 1.3L or 2.6L? There must be a straight forward answer for this right?
