When I think of Humility I think of a person who doesnt boast, but keeps a low profile, or doesnt think much of themselves, but still has a self-esteem. But I've been schooled otherwise. Mom n I argue regularly, it's our thing. We'll never get along, so we've stopped trying. But she says I used to b more humble, n take her crap, but I dont do that anymore. It's true, I dont, I'm tired of it. she says this is y my marriage broke up, n all other marriages will too. She stated I'm the next Liz Taylor in terms of marriages. I thanked her on the inside. Really; what a compliment, that I could have so many husbands. But to her, my comment was a smart one, but she was stating the obvious. Due to my attitude, I'm not marriage material...though she wants me wed. She just wants me to take the comment n feel bad, and try to change my ways so I'll happily take all the crap I'm dished as god's will, n not bring shame on the family again. I talked to dad about it, n he says, if it happens, it happens...u cant change fate, or ur own self past an extent. Is mom's definition of humility correct? I know the virgin mary was humble, but she knew her son's destiny, n what he must go through to acheive it, so she let it b. But what about us? Should I just put up with crap just because I dont earn a living or have a man? y or y not? thanks for honest opinions.
