I'm considering buying an HTC Hero phone on Sprint. I heard that the only negative about the phone was its occasional sluggish-ness and its inability to store apps on an external micro sd (it only stores music and stuff). It comes with a small internal memory chip that apparently only fits 20-30 apps. I heard rooting it would allow me to store apps on the micro sd, allowing me to download more apps. Is this true? Is it worth rooting an HTC Hero? What are the risks? What are some other benefits? And overall, WTF is rooting? Sorry, I'm new to hacking into phones and stuff. I usually just stick to the factory settings on things, but I feel like it's time to move on up. Thanks
