I don't know about in Ireland, but here in the U.S. our travel systems do not have a carry cot. The car seat has a handle on it, and we use that as a carrier. The carry cot, car seat, and stroller seem like a bit too much for me, too. Look at the link and see if you have some similar travel system strollers in Ireland wihtout the cot.

At first I thought a Quinny Speedi (with car seat and carrycot) would suit us as we live in the countryside. Then people said they never used the carrycot, I really looking to simplify, there is a new Britax Baby-Safe Sleeper in the new mothercare catalouge (Ireland) it says you can use it in the car insted of a car seat and then put it on the frame of the Vigour Pushchair (a Three Wheeler) It also says the baby can sleep in it but on the Britax website they don't recommend you use it instead of a cot. I have a cot, but thought it would be handy to have a carrycot that can go from car to a pram to a bed for overnight trips or at least as a temporary bed for bringing to babysitter for an afternoon. It seems these travel systems that have a car seat carry cot and stroller are so complicated and you'd be moving baby from one thing to the next, and where would you fit everything?? This is my first baby so I haven't a clue. Any advice out there??

hi if you dont mind paying the price you can get the phil and teds sport 3 wheeler that can be upgraded to a double pushchair if you need. I have this and have two children and it's superb it's suspension is designed for outdoors and is easy to use. it'll lay flat for a newborn and has 4 different positions and if you have another you buy the double chair. Check it out at mother care. it's a bit pricey and to have a car seat you can buy and adapter that'll fit but you'd have to check which car seats. pluse you can get a cocoon that sits in the pushchair and comes out easy is like a bag!! but safe and baby loves it. unfortunatly it comes at a price bout £500 if you brought extras but if you have plans for another is perfect because you'll never need another pushchair. i love it and it seems to be popular so it must be good

I agree with Linda, the Phil'n'Teds is the best pushchair. We live in the country, along the coast, and it has absolutely no problem on any surface, even goes along the sand with no problem. Lies completely flat, like a little hammock.

I have had lots of pushchairs and this is by far the best. (Apart from the triple I had when I needed 3 seats!!)

There is a carrycot type option with the Phil'n'Teds, and you can have a car seat which attaches to the pushchair.

However, I'd recommend that you don't have the baby in that all the time, as it's not good for their backs.

You can get the Sport version at a good price on ebay :)
