I have an HP Computer with Winows XP Media Center Edition 2002. I do weekly cleanups with Norton Protection center and download Recommended updates for my PC thinking it could speed things up online. And recently I have gone down the list Removing/Uninstalling several programs that take up a lot of MB space and left the few that I recently use and the ones I need for the computer to run properly. I also run the Disc Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter hoping I can 'clean' my hard drive. I am now also considering UNinstalling Windows Media Center but I get a message saying other programs won't run properly if I proceed. Is it safe to Uninstall or not?? My biggest problem is hearing my hard drive struggle and run loudly kind of like an old engine on a car. I want to be able to watch multiple online videos at a time and stream LIVE videos more quickly so I don't have to wait so long for them to load. I want to have more TABS open with large streaming sites and have them run smoothly without lagging. I want more memory to store MORE music without slowing down the whole computer. Keep in mind that I am not familiar with these things and I am not computer whiz friendly. So What should I do? How should I upgrade without buying ANOTHER computer? Does it only take a software that I can download online? Are there existing programs on my computer that I am not running to fasten things up? Do I Uninstall more programs? What Do I need to go out and buy and Can I install it easily myself? Will upgrading my computer be expensive? What Other questions am I not asking???? NOTE: Without giving too much away here are some of my general system properties that look like gibberish to me. If theres something else that I must know before upgrading my computer then let me know. Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz, 0.99GB of RAM My two large programs that I run are Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 (303.00 MB) and REASON 2.0 (1,118.00 MB) =[ My two and only favorite programs of that nature. I Also have a very LARGE iTunes library taking up a total of 58.60 MB Any guidance, advice or little help would be greatly appreciated for this computer tech handicap. THANKS
