What is the best type of case for a cell phone?

I just got a Nokia 6126, and I'd like to protect it as best as I can. And I was wondering, what is the best case that I could get for it? Specifically, which is the best for let's say you drop your phone? Which would help protect it the most :) I know there are hard plastic cases, leather cases, silicon cases and a few other ones.

At the moment... I'd leaning towards a hard case... thoughts? links for research done on this topic? I appreciate any help :)
 
Silicone is a very protective material. It would help absorb impact if you dropped your phone and probably do a much better job of it than hard plastic or leather.
