Brutl nailed it pretty good.
But there is one more option,
A 4.3 is just a small block v8 with two missing cylinders, on my old s10 I replaced the 4.3 with a 5.7. You can buy kits to help and it is not that much harder
I got the motor from a Silverado and used the v8s distributor and exhaust manifolds & computer
I used the same wiring harness, just had to lengthen a couple of sensor wires.
Computer even plugged into the original harness.
.
The accessories on the front of the v6 went right on the v8s with no problem
The kit was mainly just getting a little room for the radiator and condenser.
It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, and it made that truck
sooooo much better
My mileage went from 22hwy to 27hwy and no one could pass it.
