What is the dog that EXACTLY resembles the the Gizmo from The Gremlins?

A friend of mine had one but can't remember what the breed was called. It resembles the size and color almost exactly. Any help would be great!!
 
Maybe a pappillion? We used to have one we called Gizmo. But they really look more like Spike, with the long legs and big ears.

Maybe a Shih Tzu with a short hair cut
 
none that i know of
have heard a lot of toy breeds being said to look like him
