It was slippery today in spots and I had my 4-runner in HI 4WD. What is the fastest you should drive in 4WD? I remember when I was younger it was like 30 mph but is that still true or maybe that was not right in the 1st place?
The main roads were okay the secondary roads were not, I was asking for highway. Maybe I should have taken it out of 4WD.

My Kia Sorrento says i shouldn't drive faster than 40mph while in 4wd mode.
If the road is slippery then you shouldn't be going fast anyway even though you're in 4wd. 4wd doesn't mean you can drive normally. You have to adjust your speed regardless for weather conditions on the road

Theoretically in 4WD Hi you can drive at any speed you want, however most of the time conditions will dictate that you not drive very fast, otherwise you wouldn't be using 4WD. For low range due to gear reduction via the transfer case you're going to top out around 30-40 MPH for most vehicles (redline limited). But driving that fast in low range may cause damage to drivetrain.
