What is the life expectancy of a Harley motor?

I know how you ride and service it affects it of course, but compared to a jap 4 cylinder, what sort of km's or miles should you expect before its considered tired or needing major work? Im considering a sportster 1200 or dyna superglide. (used to own honda CBR600)
 
Assuming that the customer changed his HD Formula Plus oil on the regularly scheduled intervals, we have found most cylinders show little or no taper or out of round after 50,000 miles. I have had at least a dozen customers with more than 100,000 miles on the same engine.

Customers who do not properly maintain their bikes, abuse them, pull trailers or campers, or spend more than 10% of their riding time in parade duty usually have cylinder bores that are worn beyond the recommended service limit in about 25,000 to 35,000 miles.
