Police do NOT need a warrant to see what you've downloaded. They can get a court order to see what sites you've accessed and downloaded files from through your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and, I'm afraid, this is happening more and more now that movie, music and software providers are attempting to crack down on illegally downloaded material.

Unless the police has a warrant or link to your computer/downloads, there is no way they can find out. Its a very slim chance... so many people use it.
