What is the purpose of knowing the future if we can not change it?

If the future can be predicted correctly by any means, (premonition, precognition, dreams, crystal ball, whatever) then we will know of a certain event that will definitely occur. So there is nothing that we can do about it. So what is the use of that information, other than to satisfy our curiosity?
If we know that a terrible event is going to occur tomorrow, then it will happen. We can not prevent it. If we do, then the psychic prediction was wrong, but we are assuming that it was right.

It seems that this means either knowledge of the future is impossible or free will is impossible.

This is something that you don't need to worry about since there is no means by which the future can be predicted.

Your theory is just wrong. No one or thing can predict anything except weather related, and that uses computers.

Why do you assume that you can't change the future. Every minute of your life, every thought you have , every action you make changes your future
