what is the style of phone that they used that had a pole a bell shaped reciever?

That was the style at the general store in the village where my Grandpa lived. I remember the store owner and his wife making calls on that phone. A real antique now. They also used an old-timey cash register (no electric), it was a beauty and they wrapped sliced meats in butcher paper and string.....sorry to ramble on it's just one thing can bring back a lot of good memories.

My folks had a candle stick phone before there were dial phones you had to lift the ear piece and the operator would say number please then wait to be connected sometime she would say the line is busy please try later.
