What are handphones? Phones with hands? Phones made out of hands?

Symbian is an operating system, i.e. the main software that makes a smartphone tick, just like the operating system used on a PC (Windows, Ubuntu ...)

Symbian is an operating system, like android or windows. It is usually found on Nokia phones but it has also been used for others, like the Sony Ericsson Satio.

By having the Symbian software on your phone it means you should be able to download applications from the Ovi Store (nokias application store) or the equivilent if your phone is not Nokia.
