What is the tone of the book "The Princess Bride" by William Goldman?

I'm doing this summer homework and I need a little help.
I'm not sure what the tone of this book is. Well, only one part of it.
What tone would you consider the part where Westley goes to Buttercup's door and sort of confesses his love for her?
I'm sort of thinking romantic but I'm not sure.
