What is the value of a previously used Satellite dish from dish network?

We recently purchased a home and there was a previously installed Satellite dish from dish network there. I asked the technician to remove it when he installed my high def one.I gave it to the dish tech,then I was told that I should have kept it because they are very valuable and can be reused or sold....Just wondering

Very little because if you subscribe to their service, Dish network is going to give you one as part of the package.
