Ok About 8 months ago i bought my 2005 mazda 6s that had 72000 miles. after about a week the car had a manufacture defect and one of the cams wasn't getting any oil and shot a rod and cracked a head. i had the engine replaced with one that had approx. 28000 miles on it. the car has been running great ever since. about a month a go i notice when i was parked that when i hit the gas raising the rpms from idle (just below 1000 rpm) very slowly 1100rpm i could here a very quite tapping noise ( or you could call it a knock) . It was so quite that when i opened my door at the same rpm i couldnt hear it over my normal engine noise. I can only hear it when my windows are up, radio off and ac off. after about 5 minutes of listing to it .... it was gone, couldn't make it happen again .
A few week have gone by.
Today after driving a few miles to the store i came home pulling up in my parking garage i could here it again.. no louder then the last time still low rpms about 1100-1300 i was driving but the windows were up, radio off, and no ac. I parked could still hear it but just barley, had my buddy sit in the car i lifted the hood .. i couldn't hear it and he said he could . i got back in the car.. about 5 minutes go by, and its gone. no matter what i do i cant get it to happen.
Im just wondering if anyone knows what it is or had the same happen to them. if you need more info let me know.
