...ballplayers? What in the world is up with the Houston Astros farm system? Just look at the players they have had in recent years. Richard Hidalgo --- at one point in time, (2000 to be exact) he was projected to be a major league superstar as he had a 318 batting average with 44 home runs and 120 RBIs, not to mention a canon of an arm, not too shabby eh? Well the next year he had one of the worst drop-offs in recent memory and was later traded to the Mets where he did reasonably well hitting a bunch of home runs but in the end was dealt to the Rangers. He is not the only player though: José Lima (a one-time 20 game winner) Jason Lane, Brad so called lights out Lidge, Morgan Ensberg, Adam Everett, Chris Burke (was projected to be a superstar ha!) Scott Elarton (at one point in time was such a high raved upon prospect that he was nearly traded to the Yankees for Roger Clemens) and the list goes on and on and on. So I guess my question is, who is responsible for development of Astros prospects and why hasn't he been fired yet??
for those of you who say Brad Lidge won a World Series, looked at his statistics this year. Brad Lidge is the very definition of a inconsistent player...
