What is wrong with my car?

I know quite a bit about cars, however i cannot solve this puzzle. My car will be running fine hot or cold; when out of nowehere it dies and then comes back to life VERY rapidly for about 1-2 mins. after this it is fine for another week or so. This disturbance is very abrupt. if i didn't put in the clutch right away i would smash my head on the steering wheel. After the car dies i pop the clutch out to start it again; however this doesn't work if im stopped and it sucks when im in an intersection.

sounds like the main brain. ford trucks are really famous for this although other vehicles have the same problem a little more time or a few more miles and the problem will present itself again and nothing you do will start it again, even popping the clutch won't solve the problem. if you go to a shop that has computer diagnostic equipment they should be able to plug your car in and give you the answer, generally this does not cost much to have done.
