A couple years ago, while I was driving my Wrangler Sport 1999 I-6 manual transmission, I heard a snapping/popping sound! When I tried to shift into 3rd and 4th gear it acted like the gear wasn't there! As if it was in neutral or something. So yes, for almost 2 years I been driving it in 1st, 2nd & 5th. Everything else is fine except my soft top...yes I know I can get a new soft top on line for cheap but a mechanic from a tranny shop told me there is some clip that they can replace to fix this problem. Should have him check it out or get a remanufactured tranny? Thanks
