What kind of Sidekick do you use to use the tmobile customizable shell?

i know from T-mobile you can customize a shell for your sidekick, but what type of sidekick is it? Also, I haven't got the phone yet but I need help deciding what kind of phone to get. Either the sidekick, blackberry storm, blackberry 8900, or the G1?
