What makes a guy "lose interest"?

There was a guy that was interested in me supposedly, I went out on a limb and reached out, he reached back, we hung out (NO hooking up, just friends) and it went well...and then he NEVER contacted me again. I texted him once since the hang out and that was it...
Why?
 
do the move, gurl. text him with a, hey, stranger! and take it from there. hope this helps =)
