What makes *some* older men think that younger women want them? LOL?!?

What makes a single, unmarried man in his late thirties/early forties think that a girl who is between 18-23 will want their old @ss? I myself am 19 and the guy I'm currently seeing is the same age as me. Why do the older men bother younger women when it's obvious that the younger guys would be more desirable (and more attractive, of course) than them? Shouldn't these people stick to dating others their own age?
