...travelling next week? I can't find my passport and am due to travel abroad to Southern Africa on Friday next week. I am in the UK and passport is British. I don't need a visa, just the passport. How do I go about applying, how quickly could I get a new passport and where would I have to go if I don't manage to find mine?

Firstly you need to report your passport as lost. Then you'll need to apply for their one week fast track service (which costs an eye watering £112.50!) and you will get your new passport in one week. More info here:
