What PS1 game am I thinking of?

Im 99% sure it was a PS1 game anyway. It was a racing game but the characters were on foot. They were really small mutant guys and the courses were around a house such as study areas, gardens, kitchen etc. When they ran into someting like a knife they would be decapitated. It was pretty brutal and my favourite game as a child so if anyone has any insight as to what it is, i am grateful.
