Message: <blockquote data-quote="tetsubinatu" data-source="post: 2569361" data-attributes="member: 874410">My husband put it in a box of books we gave away a few years ago and I really want to find another copy.  It was a paperback about a human who was somehow taken prisoner with a whole assortment of other aliens including a sort of turtle-shaped being who was empathic.  The other prisoners thought the hero was cruel to keep him alive when he was suffering in this situation.  They ended up fighting in a sort of gladiatorial combat situation.  Does anyone recognise it?  I'd be very grateful to anyone who could find it.</blockquote>
