What shoes and dress will I wear for my vacation in Venice?

I am going in November. I am from UK.
I was told its rainy there.
I dont want to wear trainers.
Could you please help me to choose right boots for walking a lot, comfortable and sturdy.

Wear a dress (airy and comfy) with cute tights (cute and warm) with some boots (they can withstand the rain), and pack a small umbrella in your purse just in case. bring a coat..it could be chilly
