I subscribe to a newsgroup service and admittedly download alot. I find my ISP continually throttling my connection over the past several months in what seems to be a cat and mouse game.Several months ago, my downloads from my news provider were fast and great. Then they started to become slow. I tolerated it because I had no reason to suspect throttling.Recently my news provider set up a new server cluster. Upon changing clusters I noticed a massive improvement in speed. This lasted for 2 weeks and now it is slow again. This evening I changed my config so as to use a different port and it is fast again. In your opinion, what recourse do I have with my provider? I would go to another carrier but I don't have another broadband option. DSL is available but it requires a phone line with tone. I do not have a phone line.If I call them up and ask to speak to a manager, what do you think I should say?I use a regional ISP called Broadstripe, formerly Millennium Digital Media.
