I have held my present job for almost 27 years but I just can't stay there any longer. My boss could win an award for worst boss ever. He provides no guidance or support at all. He only communicates by email. He filled out my review but then gave it to another employee to give to me. My department was cut from 6 people to 2 about 2 years ago. The work week is now 60-70 hours in order to keep up with the workload. The place is a joke and I've been there long enough to know that it is NEVER going to get better. There are alot of other things I could say about the job but that's not the point of my question.
I know when I try to get another job the interviewer is going to ask why I left a job after 27 years. I'm afraid they will think I was fired. I know that I shouldn't say anything negative about my former job so I don't know what to say.I also realize I am going to take a major pay cut and I'm ok with that but that will also be hard to convince a prospective employer.
