What sort of food isn't good for cats?

My cat has been eating tuna the last few days, and she was sick. But then earlier I was eating marmite on toaste and she was licking it. is it bad for her?

Has she been eating tuna and only tuna? Tuna is really high in mercury. Small amounts of human food are fine, but they mainly need food that's formulated for cats. Otherwise they don't get the nutrition/minerals that they need.

Tuna in good for cats. Tuna can contain high amounts of mercury and other heavy metals, which can cause kidney failure over time. It can also leach vitamins from your cat, causing other health problems down the road. Marmite may taste good to her, but its extremely salty, and therefore also not good for her. Its best to stick to a regular, high quality cat food diet. They can have small pieces of poached chicken or salmon once in a while as a treat.

Yeah. Just stick with cat food, specifically Science Diet. The cats can form cysts inside their bellies because of the chemicals through human food. It's fatal. Don't ever feed grapes or raisins. They will die.

Milk. It makes their stomachs upset. I would also avoid anything from the dinner table.

idk what marmite is, but mine ate my peach, chicken sandwich, grapes, cheese (he loved cheese)..... well he didnt really eat em more like licked em(except the cheese). sugar isnt good for em.

I don't know what marmite is lol, Tuna is ok as a treat once in a while. cats are obligate carnivores and meat is what is good for them. What isn't is dry food. Please check the links at the bottom of the post

Contrary to what you may have heard, dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. Food allergies are very common when feeding dry foods.
The problems with it are that they are loaded with carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. Most of the moisture a cat needs is gotten
out of the food and 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Also, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.
You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods.Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth.
