I have owned my 96' Chevy Cavalier for 4 years now...it has 101,000 miles. I have put about $1400 dollars into it this past year because I go to college 2 hours away and wanted to make sure it was in good shape. Recently my mom went into the hospital and is having numerous health problems, so I have been driving home 2-3 weekends a month to see her and help her out since my sisters are still very young. I want to make sure my car can stay in good shape, I always get the oil changed, but how would I go about getting some type of check-up down on it to have everything looked at and make sure there is nothing I need, especially with winter around the corner?

I would be very grateful for any input, the last thing I need is my car taking a dump on me when coming home to see my mom in these tough times are important.
Thanks

Change the air and gas filter, plugs and wires, and have the transmission serviced and radiator coolant. Add windshield washer fluid if it is low and keep the tires inflated.

I would take it to a limo builder and ask them to remove a large section. 96' is much to long for a car.

Best wishes to your mom.

take it to a shop and request a used car check over and winterizing.this should give you a complete run down on all worn or soon to be bad or broken parts dont be afraid to ask them if they could show you whats wrong so you dont get robbed
