What to do about dog wounds?

My 2 dogs got into a tiff' the other day (Saturday) and one of them got the worse of it. She is 50lbs lab/pit mix and I thought the places were fine and they are looking good, but they are not closing up. There is one spot about dime sized hole on her shoulder down to the meat. I have been keeping it cleaned w/ peroxide, and applying bandages and neosporin to it at night. It is getting quite a bit better, and has closed up about 25% from it's orginal size. But the other one is in the bend of her leg on the inside and it looks clean and fine (it doesn't bother her either, no soreness or limp) but it's pretty wide open. About an inch to inch 1/4 long, and open to the meat. I do the same for this spot w/ the peroxide and neosporin but because of the bend in the arm I think its going to take a while to heal. The only VET I called said they can't stitch it up unless it's w/ in 6 hours of the cut. Am I doing the right thing in keeping it clean, covered 1/2 the time, and will it just take time to heal? or is there more I can do?
