What to write in a book to my boyfriend?

It will be our anniversary soon, I understand that there will be a lot of writing and time spent doing this between now and tehn but it's something that I would really like to do, it's something that I know would be special to him and he would cherish it for the years to come. However, I'm stuck for ideas. We have overcome a lot in our lives and I was thinking that I could somehow incorporate this into it, how he helped me through it and vice versa. The only other ideas that I have is that he called me his little lion, perhaps I could make into more of a childs book... your help would be wonderful.. Thank you :)
