I've been planning a book, and I want to start writing it, but I need to start with the first chapter because the rest of the book is built upon this one scene. The scene centers a prophet who is causing a scene ranting about the end of the world. He believes that the world is ending because there has been a massacre with no witnesses and the random splatters of the blood form glyphs that he believes to read that an ancient corruption spoken of for centuries has begun in their deaths. I know what he believes when he looks at the blood, I know what he says must be vague and open to interpretation, I know the sorts of things he must say, I know what will result from his ranting (the main character going out to stop it), I know that the MC will be listening and moved, but I don't know what he must say exactly. I don't even know the tone of which he will be speaking! Could you please give me a couple tips and some vague things to have him say that could be twisted into different meanings? Like he says "...the betrayer hides from sight, but in light. Only with insight may he be found..." which means that he hides in the church in my novel. Its a fantasy, so there is a different god than there is here. The god is the omnipotent god of Sight, Light and Insight (which basically means ALL) and the members of the church have the power to warp light and the mysterious leader has the power to appear in dreams which is only how he appears. So he does indeed hide from SIGHT, but in light. And only with reasoning skills (insight) will the main character (who does anything he asks and must learn to think for herself) find this all out. Get it?? -->so anything you may have like that would be well appreciated. Thanks bud.
