What was the final decision on the Thompson v. Oklahoma case?

I know in the end , he wasn't tried as an adult , but I just wanted to know how long he was in jail for or even if he went to jail . I read that the case was overturned and remanded which, I guess they decided not to tried him as an adult and sent it back to the Oklahoma court since it was sent to the U.S. Supreme Court .

I am very confused ! Please help me out ! & if i get this in the wrong category please tell me , this is my first time doing this .
