What would happen if I turn off my goldfish's water tank light?

I just bought two goldfish, Sylvia and Luisana, that are their names. They live in a fish bowl, with a decoration. I have them in my room, and tonight I'm sleeping somewhere else. I've got to turn the light off, just while I sleep, I will even be in the same house. Will anything happen to them? They will be in a pitch-black darkness. Will they bump their heads against the inside of the bowl, or I don't know, hurt themselves? Can I do this? Then, what can I do?
He is a Oranda goldfish.
haha, actually, its a huge bowl, the fish are tiny compared to it! You can't even see them, sort of.
 
You can do it. But talk to them first and explain the situation, so that they know what's going on. They should be fine.
