A five-year-old girl is thought to be the first in the UK to receive organ transplants from both her parents.

Jasmine Mirza is recovering after being given 30% of her father Sohrab's liver and one of her mother Cathie Locke's kidneys.

Jasmine was diagnosed with liver failure at seven months before her kidneys started to fail in 2007.

Ms Locke, from Farnborough, Hampshire, said the transplants have given Jasmine "her life back".

"For me, I wasn't worried about the operation side of things," she added.

"Through all this Jasmine's health has been the main priority.

What a beautiful story. I hope the little girl makes a full recovery and starts a new life without dialysis.
As for me, i'd do the same if needed for one of mine.

sgtcjl ~ the question is 'what would you give to save the life of a loved one', the words are a paste from the link, not all but most!!..I know how to ask questions and there is no chatting involved apart from now ooops!!

I would give any of my organs if i could! But yes too a loved one i would give my life and as much money as i could to save them...

Your question touches my very soul as I sit here thinking of my beloved wife whom I miss. I would gladly give up my life or trade with her to have her alive again. Sometimes I think of joining her sooner rather than later. It's tempting.

I dont think this is chatting - you have asked a valid question - what would YOU give to save the life of a loved one.

In my case: whatever it took.

I would gladly give my own life to save the life of my children

i'd give my life for my children....so this is a wonderful story....it's what any parent would do so like you, i am hoping for Jasmine's speedy recovery!!

Is that really a question or do you just want people to hear the story? Chatting is a violation of Yahoo!Answers guidelines, be careful.
I am an organ donor and would be willing to give any non vital body part to a family member or friend in need.
