For English i have to write a version of Cinderella (it doesn't really have to be like it, it just has to have hard times with a happy ending). I made it up and we were allowed to changed the names and stuff. What would you grade this? By the way I'm only twelve. Also it only has to be 300 words long.
I wish that my life would turn out like Cinderella’s. I want to leave my life of cleaning behind and dance the night away with my prince.
Some people consider me bad luck but I just think I’m unlucky. Like the fact my family call me Jinx or Witchy. Sometimes I wish I were a witch so I could do something evil to them. Then again I would hate to learn all those spells.
“JINX” my sister Saydee, yelled “Get down here right now!”
I sighed. What does she want now? I got up off the bathroom floor, shoved the cleaning things in the cabinet and walked down the stairs. When I reached her room she was pulling all of her dresses out of her closet. I had to dodge all the shoes and handbags she threw at me. I hastened to her side and asked her what she wanted.
“The senior prom is tonight and since your not going I need you to help me get ready Witchy,” she sneered.
“My name is Belle” I corrected her.
“What ever. So you are going to help me right”
“Well, who said I’m not going?” I asked.
“Uh I did. So you can make my mask as it is a masked ball”
“Fine” I muttered. There was absolutely no way I was going to miss my senior prom but I wouldn’t tell Saydee that.
After I finished helping Saydee and she had gone I sprinted up to my room to change. After pulling on my dress, black with straps, I pulled my gold mask out from under the loose floorboard in my wardrobe. I looked in the mirror and decided that my straight brown hair would just have to stay that way. This time I sprinted down the stairs and into the garage grabbing my keys on the way.
My orange mini was squeezed into the far corner. I opened the door carefully, praying the door handles would stay on for once. They did. I nearly sped down the motorway dodging the other fancy cars obviously going to the same place as me. When I got to the school parking lot it was packed. I let out a cry of relief when I noticed a small spot that only a car like mine would fit in. Smiling I stepped out of the car.
“Hello beautiful who are you?” A deep voice asked from behind me.
“Um the whole point of the masks is so—“
“Yeah yeah I know” he interrupted.
I knew at once who it was. Jake. He was captain of the football team and the school hottie. I heard that he recently broke up with his girlfriend who he caught bullying those less fortunate than them.
“Would you like to dance?” he asked.
I just smiled and nodded, as I was to surprised to talk. We danced all night and when the DJ announced that this was the last song he took my hand and pulled me out into the schools Rose garden. We sat down on a little bench and he gazed around before he looked at me.
“It’s beautiful isn’t it” he broke our nightlong silence.
“Yeah it is,” I agreed. Another silence followed but it was shorter this time.
“You’re beautiful too Belle” he pulled off my mask and before I could respond he placed his lips gently on mine.
Wishes do come true!
