Does he really think he stands a chance? He has little to no martial arts background... He's going to be competing against people who have been training their whole lives. If anyone can just pick up MMA and train for a few months and compete, and win. Then what's the point of training at all?

He is probably being paid just to be there because he has an internet following, but probably not make it into the UFC.

MMA is a joke in the USA, especially in the UFC.
Most fighters rely on stand up, and their skills stand up skills suck.
Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, BJ Penn , Quinton Jackson, Dan Henderson, and a few others have decent stand up skills considering it is the UFC.
But as a whole they all suck.
Yes, most anyone can just pick up MMA and train for a few months and compete and win. MMA is not brain surgery.
Especially in the UFC, where the rules are very slim...
You graze an opponent and he falls down, pounce on the grounded opponent, and ground and pound it is a victory.
Kimbo has very good stand up, and should do okay.
Look at Dos Santos, hahaha his stand up sucked against Crocop who was one dimensional

It will be interesting to see how much Kimbo has improved since he first got started in MMA. I think he will learn a great deal by training with the guys on The Ultimate Fighter. Then he'll really be dangerous.

Although i dont agree with the whole kimbo slice coming into mixed martial arts with no skill or background, i do see how it is a good move for the Ultimate Fighter to have him on the show. It gives them that much more viewers who only know him from the internet videos. At least the UFC didnt just automatically give him a fight on a card, they are making him compete for a contract.
