What's the best way to use caller ID on my computer with Time Warner

Cable's Roadrunner internet? ok, i have the full package from Time Warner Cable. i have cable, internet, and phone. well, the phone line comes out of my modem, and then connects to all of the phones in my house. is there a way to have caller id on my computer without connecting a phone line to it, since the modem delivers my phone service? this is my own personal computer, so i can download things, which i hope will make it easier.
 
The only way to do so is to download their app through the My Services part of their website. It's called VoiceZone. But on my computer (Mac OS X 10.8.3) the app fails to work after my computer goes idle. I have to close the app and reopen it for it to work again. So it's a piece of crap app. They disabled caller ID from AIM as of July 2012. *sigh* Hopefully when we move to Nevada and get a new provider they have something that actually works.
