Whats the dolby digital 5.1 codec in magix movie edit pro 14 plus?

I was bored and had some extra money on my paypal so i decided to activate the dolby digital 5.1 codec in my magix movie pro 14 plus and i was wondering what exactly is it, does it just let me import videos with 5.1 sound or can i also export them?, if so how?
