I saw this movie in the late 80s - early 90s on VHS and not from the very beginning, so details are kind of fuzzy.
Alien creature terrorizes people on a small base (is it alien planet or not - nor sure). It kidnaps them one by one, lifting them up through vents, like a spider. Eventually the people are found, bound in cocoons (barely alive?), somewhere off base (in the mountains/caves?). After an unsuccessful attempt to fight the creature in the corridors, remaining (2-3) people suddenly realize that it could be communicated with, by it tapping into the base computer, while laying on to of it. The creature's answers seem intelligent, although definitely evil. In the end the base doctor sacrifices himself by cutting out and (with the help of remaining people?) feeding the creature his own cancerous heart and that actually kills it, since it absorbs the cancer cells so fast that creature's whole body becomes a tumor.
