whats up w/ my bluetooth cell phone?

I have a cingular bluetooth phone that is on the fritz. Here's the deal my friend has a cell phone w/ metro pcs that is bluetooth as well. I dont have texting, so we decided to link our phones together that way we could send mssges thru MMS and it wrked all the time we would send mssges back and forth all day. Just recently I noticed that it wont let me send any mssges out any more or receive them our phones are still linked together all though some mssges try to come thru cuz it acts like its sending a mssges or receiving one...I dont know.
Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?
My phone is a motorola by the way.
