What's with this town on Google Maps?

Go to Google Maps and then go to Walden Pond, SC. If you look around, the coloring is all weird, but then you scroll a little bit on the map and there's a line and on the oter side the coloring is different. Why is this?

Btw, this town looks soooooooooooooooooooo creepy and run down. It's just weird.
