I have a 97 monte carlo with a 3.1 V6. It has 144K on it and now coolant seems to be leaking at about 1.5 gallons a week. I think the whining coming from the engine is the water pump. Its been doing that for a long time now. Do you think the coolant leak is coming from a faulty water pump?
