I have noticed that Italy's economy is not growing for a whole decade while there is more inflation.

While Italy had a GDP per capita 119.0% of the average eu of 27 in 1997, after 11 years (in 2008) had only 101.8% of the average and soon Italy will be below average.
On the other hand Spain from only 93,5% in 1997 overtook Italy and in 2008 Spain had 102,6% of the average.
Don't you want a strong and competitive Italy? I like your country but I find this fact disappointing and I think Italy deserves a better future but I just don't understand why economy is going that bad.
